As the Kansas City area grows more rapidly, there is also a growing desire to attend events that allow our pups to share in some of the fun with us! There are TONS of fun dog friendly events coming up this fall – far too many to write about in one blog post – but here are some of our favorites:

The 2^nd Annual Emma Lengquist Memorial Puppy Parade – Saturday, September 21^st, 2019

Want to support a good cause and have fun with your dog at the same time?

All the money from this event goes toward skills training and job placement for young adults with developmental disabilities!

This will be the second year we are hosting the Puppy Parade to honor the life of PawsAbilities participant and founding member – Emma Lengquist. This event is much more than just a dog friendly event. It is an event very dear to the hearts of everyone at PawsAbilities, to bring awareness of the importance of mental health and to celebrate our friend Emma. Though the importance of mental health is a very large part of the Puppy Parade, the best way to honor Emma is through an event that is as fun, colorful and dog-filled as possible. Attendees are welcome to sign their dogs up for a costume contest and parade, along with several vendor booths, food trucks, and fun for the whole family! Strutt with Your Mutt – Sunday, September 15^th, 2019

 Strutt with Your Mutt is a 3k walk / 5k run held every year to benefit Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter. Dogs and their people are encouraged to participate in the walking / running and start teams, raise donations, and raise awareness of the 6,200 animals served by Wayside Waifs every year. The event will have a photo booth, vendor village and much more! For more information, check out their website!

Movie Nights at Bar K! – Sunday, September 29th, 2019

This fall, Bar K Dog Bar will be hosting a Sunday night movie night! Humans and their dogs are invited to attend Bar K and eat, drink, and enjoy a movie on the patio with their 2-legged AND 4-legged friends! Bar K will be showing Milo & Otis and the show starts at 7:30! Head to Bar K’s website to learn more!

Pups Under The Plane – Saturday, October 5th, 2019

The Roasterie will be holding their first “Pups Under the Plane” event at the Roasterie Factory Cafe! “This event will host all kinds of vendors and activities for dogs and humans of all ages, taking over The Roasterie’s parking lot from 10 AM to 2 PM.” Attendees will also have the chance to meet some adorable pups up for adoption! Dogtober Fest – Sunday, October 20^th, 2019

Dogtober Fest is a benefit for several different shelters and charities that features a 1-mile walk, adoptions, booths, and contests for dogs AND humans! There will be several food trucks as well as a big screen for those who don’t want to miss a minute of the Chiefs game that Sunday.
