Every dog owner knows the feeling – you’re walking to your car, trying not to turn back around to see your best friend watching you with sad eyes. That’s why, this summer, we decided to do some research and put together a list of dog-friendly establishments around Kansas City.

So when that sad look is just too much to take, pull up this blog so BOTH of you get to have a fun night out on the town!

The very first dog friendly hangout we should mention is, of course, Bar K Dog Bar.

Bar K contains not only an indoor bar and dining area, but is also surrounded by a two-acre off leash dog-park that is fully staffed. This means you don’t have to worry about your dogs every move while you try to enjoy dinner and drinks with your two-legged loved ones! Bar K costs $10 for your first dog and then an additional $5 for each dog after that – humans are always free!

A few other local Kansas City establishments that allow dogs are:

  1. Papa Kenos – East Coast style pizza with 4 different metro area locations -Lawrence, Overland Park, Cross Roads and Westport!
  2. Boulevard Drive-In Theatre – Everyone loves a good drive-in movie during the summer time! So, next time your family camps out in the back of your car, remember your four-legged family members too.
  3. PawsAbilities – We didn’t think we’d have to point this out, but not everyone seems to know that the PawsAbilities retail store is VERY dog friendly! We love to meet the customers who will be enjoying our treats, so any time you’re going to stop by, remember to swing by home and pick up your fur babies!

If you’re not from the Kansas City area, the BEST resource for finding pet friendly outings is BringFido.

They have a comprehensive list of all the best hotels, restaurants, shops, and events in more than 100 countries!
